On Sunday 5 May, seven members’ cars met up at McDonalds near Colchester off the A12. We had breakfast and coffee prior to a leisurely drive in the morning sunshine to Rickinghall Classic Car Show near Diss, held on the village playing fields next to the village hall.
Our neighbouring region, Essex & Suffolk Borders, had invited us to join them along with other marque car clubs at the first car club show to be held on the field for 15 years. Of course we wanted to show our support.
The field was marked out with the allocated spaces for each car club, as well as a safe exit route for the end of the day. We put up our event shelter and enjoyed a relaxing day. The day remained sunny throughout, although it was a little cooler than the recent hot weather we had seen.
The day included food stalls, a raffle, a large organ-playing truck, handicraft stalls in the village hall, a licensed bar and, of course, some super cars to view.
Being the first show of the season we have attended, it a was a splendid day, and I am sure we will wish to support this show in the future.
